The data we keep

This notice explains what personal data LuckyWave UK Review handles, why, and what you can do about it under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The short version: very little.

Who is responsible for your data

The publisher of LuckyWave UK Review is the controller of the personal data described here. The publisher's details are set out in the editorial notice, and any question about privacy can be sent to [email protected].

What we collect, and what we do not

The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter and no comments. It does not load analytics, advertising tags or social media widgets. In practice that leaves three kinds of data:

  • Your cookie choice, kept in your browser so you are not asked again on each visit.
  • Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider: IP address, time, page requested and browser type.
  • Anything you choose to send us by e-mail, such as your address and the content of your message.

Why we use it, and on what basis

Server logs are used to keep the site running and secure, to spot errors and to fend off abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable website. Your cookie choice is stored because you asked us to remember it. E-mails are used only to answer you, on the basis of your request. We do not sell personal data, build profiles or use your data for automated decisions.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted or anonymised, unless a specific entry is needed to deal with an attack. The cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it or change it. E-mails are kept for as long as the conversation needs, and for no more than twelve months after it ends.

Who else sees it

Our hosting and e-mail providers process data on our behalf and only on our instructions. Some of them may store data outside the United Kingdom; where they do, transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the standard contractual safeguards approved for UK transfers. When you follow a commercial link to LuckyWave, the operator becomes responsible for any data you give it, under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or erased, object to its use or ask us to restrict it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Updates to this notice

We review this notice whenever the site changes the way it handles data. The current version carries the update date at the bottom. How cookies and browser storage are used is described in more detail on the page about cookie choices.
